    May 10, 2020 12:20:22 PM / by Jeff Warren

The tennis season is finally about to get started it looks like. We, like a lot of you I am sure can't wait!

We are particularly excited to see Dunlop making a real comeback in the tennis market in Canada ...

Dunlop is a leader in tennis technology.

The Dunlop resurgence started globally in 2016 when the Japanese conglomerate Sumitomo Rubber Industries division, SRI Sports purchased the brand. Sumitomo is a technology driven company that invests in creating products of the highest performance and quality.

The Dunlop resurgence in Canada started January 1st 2020 when the brand changed distribution here. Like the global company, Dunlop in Canada is focused on growing the brand and telling the story of how impressive their quality and technology truly is.

The Dunlop tennis racquet line is a shining example of the quality, technology and performance that SRI Sports brings to the Dunlop brand ...

Dunlop has two primary tennis racquet lines. They are the CX series and the SX series. Each series has different models in it to suit different skill levels and player preferences.

    The Dunlop CX Series

The CX series is designed for the player that has a longer, faster swing and likes the feel that a thinner beam provides ...

The technologies in the in the CX series are:

    • SONICCORE made with Infinergy
    • POWERGRID
    • BOX FRAME

To learn more about each technology check out the technologies section at the bottom of this article.

    The Dunlop SX Series

    Dunlop Spin Redefined Video

The SX series is designed for the player looking for more spin. I love Dunlop's tagline for the series:

"It's not just about more spin, it's about more in. Welcome to spin redefined."

Dunlop's technology really shines in the new SX series. They have developed a frame that will provide more spin but do so while also improving forgiveness. With the amount of spin players are hitting with today; there is an increased chance of hitting off centre. Dunlop have improved how the racquet responds to off centre hits which results in more balls going in.

The technologies in the in the SX series are:

    • SPIN BOOST
    • POWERGRID
    • SONICCORE made with Infinergy
    • V-Energy Shaft II

To learn more about each technology check out the technologies section at the bottom of this article.

We carry two models in the SX series. To learn more about the SX series models we carry, and its technologies please click on the link below.

    Technologies

    SONICCORE made with Infinergy

Play harder, cleaner shots, with increased comfort

This super elastic material dampens impact shock and reduces frame vibrations by up to 37%, resulting in a more comfortable hitting sensation and a reduced chance of injury.

    PowerGrid

Better control, more power and more spin.

Power Grid String Tech creates a 30% larger sweet spot, evenly distributing power across the string bed, allowing modern day players to hit the ball towards the top of the racket.

    Box Frame

Play shots with more power, comfort and control, thanks to a thinner front edge, enabling more frame compression which enhances the sweet spot. This modern aerodynamic frame shape features sharper angles and cuts through the air to hit a faster, cleaner shot.

    Spin Boost Grommets

YOUR NET JUST GOT LOWER AND YOUR COURT JUST GOT BIGGER.

Spin Boost technology. A dynamic set of spin-enhancing grommets that work with a dense, control-string pattern. The oblong shaped grommets are located on the 10 main strings through the top section of the racket hoop, they allow more string movement in the direction of the arrows shown on the racket (forward and backward on some strings). Lateral (sideways) in one direction on other strings. This movement helps create ‘bite’ on the ball and generate high mechanical rotation – SPIN.

Play Harder shots with less errors. Striking the ball at high impact locations on the string bed, gives less string slide motion (compared with low impact locations), less bite on the ball and gives less height and distance on shots. At low impact locations, this gives 46% more string slide motion (compared with high impact locations), more bite on the ball and gives more height and distance on shots. This combines to produce a ball trajectory that is 13% more consistent in terms of height and distance* – resulting in greater accuracy.

    V-Energy Shaft

    Enjoy enhanced power and stability

Get a firm bite and enhanced shot power, thanks to the optimised rigidity from a V-shaped-cross section.
